Control Windows XP Modem Volume

  1. Click Start > Control Panel > Phone and Modem Options. The Phone and Modem Options dialog box opens. Click the Modems tab.

  2. Select the modem, and then click the Properties button at the bottom of the dialog box.

  3. Click the Modem tab, use the Speaker volume control to set the volume level, and then click OK.

  4. Click OK in the Phone and Modem Options dialog box to close it.


NOTE:   To completely turn off the modem sound (or to turn the modem sound on), you need to disable (or enable) the modem by performing this procedure.
