Control Windows XP Modem Volume
- Click Start > Control Panel > Phone and Modem Options. The Phone and Modem Options dialog box opens. Click the Modems tab.
- Select the modem, and then click the Properties button at the bottom of the dialog box.

- Click the Modem tab, use the Speaker volume control to set the volume level, and then click OK.
- Click OK in the Phone and Modem Options dialog box to close it.
NOTE: To completely turn off the modem sound (or to turn the modem sound on), you need to disable (or enable) the modem by performing the procedure at http://www.granatedit.com/xpmodemsound.html.
